EYE-OPENER: Erie (population 93,511) has more pedestrian fatalities so far this year than Boston (population 650,706). Our rate of 7.5 fatalities per 100,000 people puts us among the most dangerous cities for pedestrians in the whole USA. I had to dig these numbers out for myself and do the math; local media don't report this stuff because it involves research and a few simple calculations.
